Poor Circulation: Supporting Local Hospices

Firstly, a confession. Poor Circulation is not an event designed to raise money for charity, ..... if charitable giving was our only motivation, we would have simply sold all of our 'Kit' and donated the proceeds along with our skimpy budget directly to the hospices. The fact is that for selfish reasons, Alan and myself are buggering off on an around the world adventure before old age dictates that we can't. Regardless of 'Good Causes', it's something we were going to do anyway.

However, from the very beginning we decided to use Poor Circulation as a vehicle to at least tip our helmets towards two organisations that we firmly wish to support. I suspect that initially it made us feel less guilty about our blatant act of self indulgence, which on the face of it is not necessarily a bad thing. Since pinning our colours to the underfunded masts St Teresa's & Farliegh Hospices in Darlington and Chelmsford respectively, it has actually motivated us to stop larking around and actually take things a little more seriously. It now feels as if a group of responsible adults are watching over us and actually relying on us to succeed. I guess that adults are used to this kind of 'Repsonsibility', ..... but to kids like Alan and myself, it's about as familiar as the Cyrillic alphabet.

Just Giving

We have set up donation pages with 'JustGiving.Com' which allows you to pass money directly to the hospices without fear of Alan or myself accidentally spending it on essentials such as beer and pie. It is easy to donate by following the links below. If you are a UK taxpayer, then JustGiving will automatically reclaim the tax credit on your donation, .. thus turning £1 into £1.28 (if only everything in life was that way).

The hospices rely totally on the support of private donations in order to continue providing their invaluable support to the community. They can not add days to lives, but they can add life to days, .. every £1 helps.
